JUDGING OF THE AWARDS
Simon Barnes is Convener of Judging of the NZIOB Awards for Excellence. Simon has 40 years experience across a wide range of commercial, residential, industrial and retail developments.
Simon was a Director of Davis Langdon and its predecessors for 25 years prior to its sale to AECOM. In Mid 2013 Simon left Davis Langdon and formed a new Quantity Surveying business with Scott Beagley and David Doherr undertaking all aspects of Cost management Services.
Simons experience and expertise is recognised in the industry and he is utilised extensively to negotiate contracts and provide expert opinions on a wide range of projects.
His depth of experience allows him to provide clear and consistent leadership with regards to the judging of people and teams who have entered the:

- JAMES HARDIE® INNOVATION AWARD
- SITE SAFE SAFETY EXCELLENCE AWARD

The judging is done in two stages over a two month period by a judging panel made up of experienced people from a cross section of the New Zealand Construction Industry.
In total over 40 judges throughout New Zealand are involved in the process and the Institute is extremely grateful for the enormous amount of time and personal effort they bestow on the annual Awards for Excellence.
